    • ARTSAT:INTRODUCTION
The “ARTSAT: Introduction” corner documenting research and development related to the satellite art project was set up as part of the “Open Space 2012” exhibition with the aim to introduce the activities of the “ARTSAT: Art and Satellite Project”, from its start in 2010 up to the planned launch of the world’s first art satellite in February 2014, to the broad general public, and to stimulate a discussion of the project’s significance and potential.
In order to communicate this project’s various genre-crossing collaborative efforts as immediately as possible, the “Open Space 2012” exhibition is divided into the following three parts/periods. “Manmade Moon” offers all kinds of basic information related to satellites. “Physical Satellite” comprises various experimental and creative activities themed around satellite art. And finally, “ARTSAT1: INVADER” showcases the satellite and the process of its development.
